Nearly six weeks after the
first post of our new giant allium bulb plants, the buds are beginning to shed their casings even after the surrounding hydrangeas have covered their foliage. The buds are about the size of a very large lime, so I expect the blooms to be nearly the size of a cantaloupe when fully open. We may have a display of allium in the middle of July at this rate, so stay tuned.
