The plants in our garden are still growing up, but not out. The early allium bulb-flowers are just starting to blossom while the giant allium are still encased in their green shells. The elephant ear hostas are rolled and fighting for space until they can release their leaves outward. The slow-growing, climbing hydrangea on the stone wall has covered the iron trellis completely and threatens to bloom this year, for the first time after nearly five years in the ground. From the looks of the fresh greens, we're going to have a beautiful summer display.
