The Apprentice

One of my most prized pieces of furniture is this elegant stool by Wharton Esherick, signed by one of his studio apprentices. The stool is made of a delicate maple frame in a classic Windsor style keyed together and directly through the free-form walnut seat. It's an unexpected marriage of woods and styles that only a master craftsman could execute effectively.
