Desert Light
The idea for my recent trip to Tucson was conceived nearly a year ago during a trip to New York City for a reading of An Extravagant Hunger by the author, my cousin, Anne Zimmerman. We realized we had not seen each other, or some of our other cousins, in over a decade. We arranged to meet in Arizona near the home of our grandparents, where I spent a great deal of time during my childhood. Seeing new and old family members was wonderful, and seeing the desert landscape reminded me where I learned to look at light.
