Fresh tomatoes are not yet in season, but the basil plant is producing plenty of summer greens to make a simple sauce with canned plum tomatoes and garlic. Once you make sauce this way, you'll never consume canned or jarred sauce again. It's simple and worthy of a little extra effort.
