Fifty Shades of Greige

A friend once said that a house should contain five or more colors of white, and I have taken some liberty with this sentiment by incorporating varying shades of gray along with the bright white trim and white accents that include subway tile, glazed shaker cabinetry, and even the exterior stucco.


The room living and stairwell have been a pleasant sage green for a few years, but I have always struggled with having art in the room potentially clash with the color. It was limiting. 


In contrast to the rich color of the dining room (Restoration Hardware "Slate"), the new Benjamin Moore "Pale Oak" in the living room is bright and airy. It also enhances all of the natural light that the front of the house receives, and this room has become my go-to spot for photographing objects mid-day.
